Over The Moon

Moon Wisdom: Reflect. Release. Manifest.
Yesterday, we stepped into a full moon in Scorpio. Full moons signify powerful times of release, and Scorpio is the ruler of transformation. With the full moon in this sign, it’s the perfect time to claim changes you want in life and own them. You are more powerful than you know!

Here’s a quick ritual to kick off the week and help you release what no longer serves you.

  1. Set up a sacred space by lighting soothing candles or incense

  2. Meditate for 5-10 minutes

  3. Write a list of behaviors, habits, people and situations you wish to let go of

  4. With willingness to release, burn the list and drop it into a bowl of water

  5. Meditate for another 5-10 minutes and visualize new actions you’re going to take this week

The happiest news of the weekend
On Friday, the leaders of North and South Korea met for peace talks, embraced and planted a tree together, announcing their commitment to denuclearization, the end of the Korean war and reunification.

The 2nd happiest news of the weekend
According to new findings, chocolate with at least 70% of cacao might boost our immunity, mood and memory. Since it also contains flavonoids (an antioxidant that helps regulate digestion, reduce anxiety and boost sexual health), go on and feed that sweet tooth!

Blissing out

Looser joints, a glowing complexion and a longer life span...
All from a protein?? No whey! Throw collagen in your smoothie to reap the benefits. (Ear muffs) It’s made from the bones, skin and cartilage of animals and fish (but it’s also found naturally within our bodies.)  Get it here.

Financial PTSD is a thing.
And a whopping 36% of millennials experience it! Fixing the relationship with money starts with (you guessed it) working on yourself. Journaling, learning to relax and reframing negative thought patterns can help. In the end, solving financial problems is just about making more money or spending less. Before you eye roll, think about it this way: Money is only another form of energy.

What story are you telling yourself about your financial status? Do you believe you deserve money? Are you getting paid for what you’re worth? Is it a constant source of stress, or can you look at it with gratitude and appreciation? While it’s a helluvah lot easier to avoid looking at your credit card statement, taking control of your finances will lead to more happiness and accomplishment. Try this mantra: “I am a wealth magnet.”

Relationship Advice from Enliven
Every night, sit down together and say three things you appreciate your partner doing that day. Three different things. Every single day. By setting this time aside, you are mindfully giving voice to the good over the bad, and this will cause a positive shift in your relationship over time as you try to “catch” your partner doing something right and vice versa.

Pollution. Period.
20 billion feminine hygiene products are dumped into North American landfills every single year to leak chemicals like BPA and phthalates into the earth… and the most sensitive, absorbent part of our bodies. Disposable pads and tampons are often made with dioxins, pesticide residue and unnamed fragrances. While it’s still up for debate on how bad they really are, consider switching to organic, plant-based, non-toxic hygiene products or (dare I say it) a menstrual cup.

So hot right now
Why is everyone dry brushing their skin when finding the time to use a sugar scrub is hard enough? Apparently it helps the body detoxify, exfoliates for cleaner and smoother skin and reduces cellulite. OK, slightly intrigued…

Holidaying.
Cinco de Mayo is Saturday, and this travel-inspired backyard fiesta is dreamy.
